| Dragel is currently one of the youngest members of his family, but also one of the most magically powerful. He is a master dragon trainer, possessing a unique ability to understand dragons and have them understand him. There are limits to his skill, of course; even he can't reach the more mindless brutes, and if the dragon doesn't speak one of the languages he speaks, things get much more difficult - which is why he thought a recin would be useful. Dragel is charming and manipulative, and put forward a noble, helpful facade to the rest of the world that fooled everyone for many, many years. Although, in truth, when he was young, it wasn't totally a lie – he did care for his family and his dragons, and he did take in Wind Racer out of kindness. Kindness, and the feeling that having a veslahaji on his side could prove useful in the future. As time went on, and his need to drain life force and magic increased, his heart hardened and blackened, and his kindness withered away. His love for the human woman Seri is the closest to goodness he's been for a long time. However, instead of her making him good, he's made her evil. Dragel is loyal only to a select few, and mostly looks out for Number 1. He has a strong taste for attractive women, and prefers the magic users he drains to be such. Since he's convinced everyone that he is such a good person, and he's very handsome to boot, he has little difficulty finding such women to feed on. He doesn't much care for his older brother, but isn't as cruel to him as the rest of the family is. Ironically, he may be the closest to Furan out of the entire Deloi clan. If he hadn't be so over confident, Olan never would've escaped, and no one would've known what he was up to until it was much too late. |
